The Smartest and Most Personalized Food App Available
Around a decade ago, during my time as a journalist at Forbes Magazine, I was approached by Michelle Newburgh, a PR specialist with 10FOLD. She wanted me to interview the CEO of a computer storage company. However, since storage wasn’t my area of expertise, I politely declined her offer.
To my surprise, shortly after declining the opportunity, UPS delivered a large package to my doorstep.
Inside the package was a broken drumhead.
Initially, I did not know what it was. It looked like an animal had jumped through a torn paper hoop at a circus.
Fortunately, another journalist who was skilled in music helped me identify the drumhead as belonging to an enthusiastic drummer.
Intrigued by this strange delivery and eager to uncover its purpose, I called the phone number that was written across the drumhead.
Michelle was on the other end of line once again pitching her idea about interviewing this CEO.
However, this time she presented me with new information: CEO Kevin Brown led an extraordinary and fulfilling life outside of his executive role in both music and cooking.
This fresh angle fit perfectly into my Forbes Video Series titled Personal Best.
Brown would prepare exceptional group meals and music in order to entice potential investors and partners into attending discussions about his business ventures.
Intrigued by this unique approach and wanting firsthand experience for myself, I invited myself along for one such event and offered to assist in the cooking process alongside him for a large gathering of hungry individuals from Silicon Valley.
The video that we created about Brown and his gourmet talents was one among several that we submitted for consideration in the Emmy Awards.
Our Personal Best series received a nomination in the San Francisco Bay Area thanks in part to Kevin Brown’s incredible story.
Storage Company To Food Business
However, his story becomes even more remarkable because he has now transformed his passion for food into his profession, making his business skills just as captivating as his gourmet creations.
It’s perfect timing for his business called INNIT, an innovative food transformation company.
Why?
The Problem With Food
Insufficient nourishment results in 20% of deaths worldwide (INHME) and contributes to a range of chronic illnesses. The costs associated with unhealthy eating habits have surpassed $11 trillion, exceeding the value of the global food industry, which stands at $9 trillion according to WEF reports. While our healthcare system has yet to find an effective approach to improving poor dietary habits on a large scale, fortunately, technological advancements are bridging the gap by offering more tailored and practical guidance for individuals’ daily nutritional needs.
World’s First Generative AI Platform for Diet
Innit, a technology company, has introduced FoodLM™, the world’s first Generative AI platform that incorporates expert validation of dieting practices, cooking methods, and healthy eating requirements. Through FoodLM (Language Model), Innit addresses the pressing need for reliable AI solutions in the global food industry. This innovative platform enables grocery retailers, brands, and healthcare providers to deliver AI-powered food services with unprecedented personalization and precision for consumers.
In this episode of The Heart of Innovation, CEO Kevin Brown joins Dr. Phillips and I in a conversation about the capabilities of FoodLM. They explore how this technology goes beyond simple keyword search to understand user intent, offering retailers an advanced semantic search solution. By leveraging FoodLM, brands can deliver personalized AI assistance to consumers throughout their entire culinary journey – from choosing products to cooking them. For healthcare providers aiding patients with chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, FoodLM offers science-backed support for healthy eating and using food as medicine.
