New Media Gallery at The Newseum

To provide context and examples of innovation, I’ve gone back and documented projects I have done in the past. It’s amazing to go back and think about these past projects and the teams involved with them. It’s been a great experience to reflect on the successes and failures, learn from each, and see how far we have come since then. I hope you find some of these projects inspiring and can also use them as inspiration in your work!

New Media Gallery in the Newseum was an innovative, interactive experience that used the latest technology to allow visitors to enter a multidimensional social network, demonstrating new media’s powerful impact on our world. The gallery blended the latest in digital technology with the Newseum’s multimedia expertise to place visitors at the center of the news revolution.

The concept of the new exhibit resulted from the design and installation of the Smart Touch Wall for Edelman’s new headquarters in NYC. The team at the Newseum reached out and asked for ideas and designs for consideration for a new gallery they wanted to install at the museum.

Its mission was to illustrate how technology can help create fresh forms of communication and information sharing, reshaping our news media and society.

The gallery featured five groundbreaking interactive experiences and a multiscreen video presentation that illustrated the evolution and progression of global media. Live Twitter feeds filled touch-screen monitors connect visitors with trending news stories and …
